Looking For

Student Graduation Ceremony Committee – Volunteers needed!

Each year in July, we start to plan the LAS Graduation Ceremony, taking
place in October (end of Welcome Week). It has become a good tradition to
organize this festive event jointly with UCF staff and current LAS
graduates/students (Student Graduation Ceremony Committee).
Please have a look at impressions of previous graduation ceremonies
(https://www.ucf.uni-freiburg.de/college/events/las-graduation) to see the
results.

What kinds of student contributions are we looking for?
Possible contributions for graduates include: student contribution at the
ceremony (short film, slide show.anything welcome), and communication with the graduates/soon-to-be-graduates, etc.
Possible contributions for students: organization of the reception after the
ceremony.

Are you interested? Great! Kindly send an email to
caroline.wacker@ucf.uni-freiburg.de by July 28 the latest.

Miscellaneous/External

Participants for survey(s) wanted

A journal article and a student writing their thesis are each looking for participants for their research.

1. The journal article is looking for students who started their studies at the beginning of the Corona period and who will be doing their bachelor’s degree this summer to do research for the SZ’s political editorial team. This will investigate how these students look back on their studies, what the challenges and problems were and if/how this still influences their future. To participate, write an email to
kathrin.mueller-lance@sz.de .

2. To help the student thesis, you can participate on an online questionnaire on topics such as learning, social support, academic motivation and the socialization milieu you grew up in. The online survey takes about 15 minutes. Click here for the survey.

Zukunftsakademie Freiburg: a summer school for socio-ecological transformation

We always ask ourselves: How can we move from dystopia to action and contribute to a good life for all?
The almost 40 participants come from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but the program of events will also be available free of charge to anyone interested in and around Freiburg. A total of 16 different workshops (e.g. water crisis, ecofeminism, climate escape, rhetoric training, climate lawsuits as a means of transformation, shaping the energy transition, time politics, with utopias into tomorrow, …) and five lectures (e.g. with Kübra Gümüsay, Klaus Dörre, Marina Weisband, …) will take place (workshops with prior registration).
